INFLUENCE OF AZOLLA WITH DIFFERENT LEVELS OF UREA IN RICE PRODUCTION IN SOUTH WEST BANGLADESH

A pot experiment was conducted on Satla soil series in Terokhada Upazilla, Khulna during the boro season (February to June) see whether Azolla (biofertilizer) could be grown together with BRRI dhan 28 and compare effect of recommended dose N (100 kg ha-1) that different combinations urea (all treatments having doses P, K, S Zn). The laid out a completely randomized design 5 4 replications. pinnata applied 0.2 m-2 grew well 28. highest amount grain yield 2.35 t ha-1 produced by application 75 Kg Azolla. One layer 50 urea-N almost same amounts grain. Thus rate 0.2Kg inoculums as source along 50-75% Urea-N appeared good practice reducing use costly (chemical source) fertilizer about 25-50%.
